Arkansas Defeats Texas in 2014 Texas Bowl
This past Monday, the 29th of December, 2014, we saw the Advocare V100 Texas Bowl that was played in the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Gametime was 9 PM ET and televison coverage was provided by ESPN TV. The 7-6 Arkansas Razorbacks (SEC West) played the 6-7 Texas Longhorns (Big 12), and the Hogs stomped the Longhorns, with Arkansas QB Allen completing 2 TD passes and the Razorbacks winning 31-7 over Texas.
Clemson Destroys Oklahoma in 2014 Russell Athletic Bowl
This past Monday, the 29th of December, 2014, was the Russell Athletic Bowl, played at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida. It started at 5:30 PM ET and was seen on ESPN. The 8-5 Oklahoma Sooners (Big 12) played the No 17 Clemson Tigers 10-3 (ACC Atlantic), as the Tigers walloped the Sooners with the Clemson QB Stroudt's 4 touchdowns. Final score: 40-6. Chargers Lose to Chiefs to End Playoff Hopes
This past Sunday, the 28th of December, 2014, in Week 17 of the regular season, there were some 17 games played, many of which had playoff implications. This was the last game for all NFL teams for the 2014 season. The game we are recapping is the now 9-7 San Diego Chargers (2nd AFC West) losing to the now 9-7 Kansas City Chiefs (2nd AFC West). The Chiefs eliminated the Chargers from the AFC Playoffs with their 19-7 win over the Chargers.
Bills Beat Patriots to Earn Earning Season
This past Sunday, the 28th of December, 2014, Week 17 was the last of the NFL 2014 regular season games. Let's recap the game between the now 9-7 Buffalo Bills (2nd AFC East) and the now 12-4 New England Patriots (1st AFC East). Buffalo won 17-9, as the Patriots were disinterested in a meaningless matchup. The game was played at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, at 1 PM ET and was seem on CBS TV.
Penn State Wins Pinstripe Bowl Over Boston College in Overtime
This past Saturday, the 27th of December, 2014, a very interesting bowl game ended in OT. This was the New Era Pinstripe Bowl game with the 7-6 Boston College Eagles (ACC Atlantic) playing 7-6 Penn State Nittany Lions (Big Ten East). Penn State scored past the Eagle in OT with a extra point to win the game 31-30. Let's recap how the game went down.
USC Defeats Nebraska in National University Holiday Bowl
On this past Saturday, the 27th of December, 2014, there were some five bowl games. All turned out (for the most part) to be close games. Let's present a brief recap of the National University HOLIDAY Bowl with the 9-4 Nebraska Cornhuskers (Big Ten West) playing the No. 24 USC Trojans (9-4 Pac 12 South). The game was played at 8 PM ET at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California.
Texas A&M Plays West Virginia in Autozone Liberty Bowl
This coming Monday, the 29th of December, 2014, the 2014 Autozone Liberty Bowl will be played. This bowl features the 7-5 Texas A&M Aggies (SEC West) playing the 7-5 West Virginia Mountaineers (Big 12). The game will be played at the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. Utah Defeats Colorado State in Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl
This recap is for the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl, which was one of the three Bowl games on Saturday, the 26th of December, 2014. The Royal Purple Bowl was played on Saturday at 3:30 PM ET and televised on ABC TV, with the game played at the Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The No. 22 Utah Utes 9-4 (Pac 12 South) played the Colorado State Rams 10-3 (MWC Mountain), as the Utes displayed superior offensive talent and won the game 45-10.
UCF Favored Over NC State in Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl
Another bowl game on the 26th of December, 2014, is the Bitcoin St. Petersburg Bowl. This one has the 7-5 NC State Wolfpack of the ACC Atlantic playing the 9-3 UCF Knights of the American Conference. UNC Favored Over Rutgers in Quick Lane Bowl
The day after Christmas there are no 2014 bowl games, but Friday the 26th features the Quick Lane Bowl. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights 7-5 of the Big Ten East will play the University of North Carolina Tar Heels 6-6 of the ACC Coastal. Kick off time is 4:30 PM ET and the game will be televised on ESPN TV. The neutral site for this bowl is Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
