As Taj Mahal closes, Online Gambling is here to Stay
Like the Monty Burns casino, betting at actual, physical, brick-and-mortar casino is an activity that is imploding on itself, and the latest example is the closing of the Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resorts in Atlantic City. Online gambling, on the other hand, it’s where it’s at. Billionaire Carl Icahn bought the Taj Mahal and other Trump properties in 2014, and has been mired in negotiating a new labor deal, healthcare, and a funding of pension benefits ever since, until he eventually decided that it was cheaper to just close the thing.
New England Rises to the Top of NFL Power Rankings
The NFL is finally starting to quiet back down and get used to idea that Tom Brady has indeed returned. The fans know it, the sportsbooks know it, and the rest of the NFL is well aware. With Brady back under center the New England Patriots have risen to the top of the NFL Power Rankings. But their ranking is well deserved. Through the first four weeks of the season the Patriots ranked near the top of the NFL in every statistic worth mentioning.
Best Rushing Offense against the Best Run D
Top sportsbooks had the Green Bay Packers pegged as the favorites over the New York Giants this past weekend, and the Green and Gold did not fail to disappoint. Beating the Giants had enormous playoff implications for Green Bay, especially when considering the current standings in the NFC North. Right now the Vikings lead the division with their undefiled 5-0 record, but the Pack is close behind them at 3-1. Green Bay’s only loss this season has come at the hands of their longtime rival the Vikings, so needless to say Minnesota has one up over the Packers.
With Brady Back, Pats are Football Betting Favs Once More
Coming as no surprise to the online football betting community, Tom Brady tore apart the Cleveland Browns secondary in his first game back after serving his 4-game suspension. Brady and Patriots fans are eager to put the future Hall of Famer’s second cheating scandal behind them as soon as possible, and what better way to do it then by pummeling what many consider to be the worst team in the NFL. Through the first 5 weeks of the season, the Browns are the only team that has yet to win a game. While a large part of that has to do with Cleveland’s seemingly endless woes at the quarterback position, there’s little the doubt the Browns would’ve ever been able to upset the Pats, regardless of who they had under center.
What is going on in the NFC South?
There weren’t too many fans picking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their bet on NFL futures within the NFC South. No, most fans would have chosen the Carolina Panthers, because that seemed like the most logical thing to do. The Panthers were expected to lead the South, while fans were anticipating that the Bucs would be ranking near the bottom of the division. But now 5 weeks into the season, the Bucs, the Panthers, and the Saints are all tied for last place in the NFC South. While it might not be surprising to see the Saints and the Bucs near the bottom of the South, seeing Carolina all the way down there is certainly jaw-dropping.

There’s just something so relaxing about finishing work on the first day of the week and knowing that you have a legitimate excuse to go knock down a few cold ones – all the while making a few bucks on the sport you love. Yes, there’s no denying that there’s something magical about Monday Night Football and the social opportunities/drinking excuses that it provides for NFL fans. In Week 5, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers will be stepping up to the plate and providing this week’s excuses for fans across the nation.
