However, their performance in the season opener left a lot to be desired. Sure, the Tigers came out on top of the Auburn Tigers 19-13 but they didn’t exactly dominate. In fact it was one of the worst performances a Clemson team has given in over a year. It’s the first time in 11 games that the high powered Clemson offense failed to gain at least 500 yards in total offense, and the first time since the 2014 season that the Tigers failed to score 20 points minimum. Many consider Clemson to be the frontrunner to contend Alabama for the title this season, but if you were to compare their opening games it’d be clear that the Tigers are clearly outmatched.
