Making a bet on the Eagles is sometimes pricey, as the Eagles are oftentimes overvalued, especially when they are at home.  And keep in mind that when you bet on the Eagles in the playoffs you definitely are in dangerous territory.  Despite the lack of success in the playoffs, making a bet on the Eagles to win the Super Bowl will give you low odds.  The Eagles are one of the favorites to win Super Bowl XLIV at 10-1.  Those are really low odds for a bet on the Philadelphia Eagles considering their tendency to choke in the playoffs.

Making a bet on the Eagles in 2009 is going to be interesting if nothing else.  The team has to deal with an injury to quarterback Donovan McNabb and their backup quarterback situation is definitely interesting.  The team signed Michael Vick in the off-season and after Week 1 they picked up Jeff Garcia. And they still have Kevin Kolb as the main backup to McNabb.  It definitely provides some intrigue when you bet on the Eagles.

Philadelphia’s defense in Week 1 was good as gamblers who bet on the Eagles got an easy win.  It won’t be as good overall though as the season progresses because the team lost defensive coordinator Jim Johnson as he passed away.  Making a bet on the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009 will not involve having Johnson’s defense to bail you out.

Philadelphia plays in perhaps the best division in the NFL so making a bet on the Eagles is never a sure thing.  The Eagles have to deal with the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Washington Redskins.  The time to make a bet on the Eagles may be in their out of division games against teams like Tampa Bay, Denver and Oakland.
