Here is a look at some of the numbers for this contest on Friday between Golden State and Phoenix.
Basketball betting has seen the Suns win 9 of the last 10 home games against Golden State. The Suns are also 7-3 vs. the NBA betting odds in those games. This is a weird scheduling spot for Golden State this early in the season. The Warriors played at home on Wednesday against Houston but after tonight’s basketball betting game they don’t play again until next Wednesday as they host Memphis.
You would think that when Golden State and Phoenix play that the games would be high scoring. They are but the totals are also high in basketball betting. That has meant the games can go under the basketball betting total. In fact, both meetings at Phoenix went under the NBA betting total last year. The Suns won 117-113 and 115-105. Six of the last nine at Phoenix between the two teams have gone under the NBA betting number.
Golden State was not very good last basketball betting season and there is not a lot of reason to think things will be better this year. The Warriors didn’t do much to improve in the off-season so they could struggle again. They were terrible on the road in basketball betting a year ago. They were 15-24-2 against the basketball betting pointspread in road games.
The Suns did lose Shaquille O’Neal in the off-season but many people believe they will be better off without him in basketball betting. The Suns still have a solid starting lineup led by Steve Nash that can win games versus the basketball betting odds. Last season the Suns were the top scoring team in the NBA and they could be potent again in 2009-2010. Phoenix does need to improve their defense though as they were near the bottom of the league a year ago in points allowed per game.
Many who look at this basketball betting game will lean towards the Suns based on the past history of the two teams and the fact that Phoenix is simply the better team.
