December 2, 2010 UFC

UFC odds are great to see at sportsbooks around the world. Mixed martial arts are exciting and fun to watch and wager on.

UFC odds are available almost year round and it is very easy to find a fight that might appeal to you. Let’s look at UFC betting and some of the basics of Ultimate Fighting.  UFC odds will match together two fighters of fairly equal skill.

You will notice that sometimes the fighters do have different styles. The three basic styles you will see in UFC betting are grappling or wrestling, striking and ground fighting. The striking style you see in UFC betting is like boxing as you see fighters using punches, kicks and even knees and elbows. Most strikers use boxing skills or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu the most.

In UFC odds you may also notice the grappling style which includes getting the other fighter to submit. Oftentimes in marquee fights the UFC odds will include how the fight will end and submission is one of the choices. The other two main ways that bouts end are knockout and decision. The other style that is popular among gamblers that look at UFC odds is ground fighting. Fighters continue to go at each other when on the ground and you also see submissions occur on a regular basis with ground fighting.

As you look at UFC odds you should be aware of the different styles and how they match up against each other. You sure don’t want a fighter in UFC odds that can’t handle himself on the ground if he is facing a ground fighter. Conversely, you don’t want a fighter in UFC odds that can’t escape if he is facing a grappler. There is no question that some styles work better against each other and you need to be aware of each of them as you bet UFC odds. The style factor is also important if you are betting favorites.  You don’t want to be at a disadvantage if you are laying money in UFC betting. Everything needs to be in your favor if you are laying money against UFC odds.
