Betting UFC Odds

December 2, 2010 UFC

UFC odds have two basic options and both involve money lines. You have the choice of betting one fighter against another and you will have the choice of betting on how long the fight will go.

Sometimes you will get addition al UFC betting odds on marquee fights on how the fight will end whether by knockout, submission or draw.

UFC odds are getting a lot of attention at sportsbooks all the time. The UFC has made boxing a secondary thought.  There are marquee UFC events on a regular basis and Ultimate Fighting has become very popular. UFC odds are based on money lines where you have a favorite and an underdog.  You pick the winner in UFC odds.  It is really that simple.

Another main option in UFC betting odds is the rounds option. You wager on whether the fight will go over or under the UFC odds. Most UFC bouts don’t last very long so you may see the rounds listed at 1.5 with a total attached to them.  For example, you might have over 1.5 rounds with the over at -130 and the under at +110 as you are wagering on UFC odds. That means you are risking $130 to win $100 on the over or the 13/10 equivalent or you are risking $100 to win $110 or the 10/11 equivalent.

As you bet the rounds option in UFC odds there are some things to keep in mind.  Always be aware of how long the fight is scheduled for as you bet UFC odds.  Most major title fights are scheduled for five rounds while the other fights are usually three rounds. You can handicap the rounds option just as you do the entire fight when you are wagering on UFC odds. If you have two fighters that traditionally go for knockouts and quick submissions then you don’t want to bet the over but you bet the under in UFC betting odds.

When you bet UFC odds another thing to keep in mind is that the main card will be out well in advance of the undercard.  That doesn’t mean you can’t bet those fights though. You just have to wait until the days before the event before betting the preliminary fights in UFC odds. The main bouts are listed weeks in advance so you have plenty of time to bet those in UFC betting odds.
