Online sportsbook results have seen Texas and Kentucky do very well this college basketball season. The Longhorns and the Wildcats are the only two remaining unbeaten teams in college hoops. They both face tough games this week but still should be favored in Internet sportsbook lines.
Online sportsbook had Texas ranked #1 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll. Kentucky follows them at #2 while previously unbeaten Kansas fell to #3. Villanova and Syracuse complete the Top 5 of the poll. Texas is 15-0 and they received 30 of the 31 first-place votes. Kentucky got the other first-place vote. Kentucky has been up in the poll before but this is rare air for Texas. “I think for the program it is a compliment, I don’t think there’s any question about that,” Longhorns coach Rick Barnes said, “But, it’s like I told our guys, I cannot honestly tell you who the No. 1-ranked team was in the country two weeks into January a year ago. I don’t know. But, I do know who won the national championship.”
It was a tough online sportsbook week for top teams last week as Kansas lost to Tennessee. Other losers at the Internet sportsbook were Purdue, Duke, West Virginia, North Carolina and Kansas State. Purdue was unbeaten until losing in online sportsbook results to Wisconsin. They fell to sixth in the poll as online sportsbook had it while Duke fell to seventh. Michigan State moved up to 8th while West Virginia went down to 9th. Tennessee moved up to #10 after their online sportsbook upset of Kansas.
Georgetown is up to #11 after a great sportsbook win against Connecticut on Saturday. Kansas State fell to #12 while North Carolina dropped to #13. Gonzaga is at #14 followed by Connecticut, Wisconsin, BYU, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Pittsburgh. The final five in the poll as online sportsbook numbers showed were Temple, Butler, Mississippi, Baylor and Florida State. Two teams, New Mexico and Washington dropped out of the Top 25.
This should be a great week of college hoops at the online sportsbook. Matchups at the Internet sportsbook between teams ranked in the poll begin on Wednesday as North Carolina plays Clemson while Pittsburgh faces Connecticut. Saturday is highlighted at the sportsbook as Syracuse takes on West Virginia. Mississippi is at Tennessee and Georgia Tech is at North Carolina in other Internet sportsbook lines. Sunday in sportsbook odds has Georgetown at Villanova in a key Big East matchup.
