Six Teams Have Single-Digit Sports Betting Odds to Win World Series

The Major League Baseball sports betting season is set to move into the month of August with a number of teams still in contention to make the playoffs. There are six teams that have single-digit sports betting online futures including the New York Yankees who are the favorites to win the World Series at just under 3-1.

Sports betting odds list Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Boston, St. Louis and Texas with odds of less than 10-1.  The division leaders in baseball are the Yankees, Rangers, White Sox, Padres, Cardinals and Braves.  The Reds are right with the Cardinals in the National League Central but their sports betting odds are much higher at over 11-1.

There are some major surprises in these sports betting online odds. The Chicago White Sox lead the American League Central but they have odds of 20-1 to win the World Series.  The San Diego Padres lead the National League West but they have odds of over 12-1.  The Padres have the top pitching staff in the league and they are no longer considered a fluke.

The National League West is very competitive with the Colorado Rockies and San Francisco Giants within striking range.  The Rockies are 16-1 to win the World Series while the Giants are 20-1. The Dodgers are starting to fall out of the race but they still have low odds of 18-1. The National League East is led by Atlanta but New York and Philadelphia are still given a chance. The Mets are 17-1 while the Phillies are 10-1.

The Chicago White Sox are the biggest shock at 20-1 considering they lead their division.  The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers are also very much in that race. The Twins are 22-1 to win the World Series while the Tigers are 20-1. The American League West is controlled by the Texas Rangers but the Angels are not totally out of the race. The Angels are a big long shot though to win the World Series at odds of 50-1.

With the dog days of August approaching, teams will be making changes to their rosters in anticipation of making a playoff run. The trading deadline could affect some of these odds so keep that in mind when you bet baseball futures.
