Sportbetting had St. Louis first baseman Albert Pujols winning the National League MVP award on Tuesday. He is the first player to win in back-to-back sportbetting seasons since Barry Bonds won four in a row from 2001-204.  Sports betting online had Pujols as the unanimous selection for the MVP.

Sportbetting had Pujols getting 448 votes to run away with the award. Hanley Ramirez of the Marlins was second with 233 followed by Ryan Howard of the Phillies and Prince Fielder of the Brewers.

The NL MVP was the third of Pujol’s career.  He won last sportbetting year and also won in 2005.  Sportbetting had him as the first unanimous winner since Bonds back in 2002. The award is nice for Pujols but he would much rather have a World Series title.  He won his only one with the Cardinals in 2006. “I always make a joke. I got 10 fingers. I want to get nine more rings,” he said. “I want to get as many as Derek Jeter has so far. Obviously that’s hard to do.”

Pujols has simply been the best power hitter in baseball for a while now in sports betting online.  He led the majors in home runs with 47, runs scored with 124, slugging percentage at .658, on base percentage in the NL at .443.  He led the league in intentional walks with 44 and was second in the league in doubles with 45 as sports betting online indicated.  He was third in batting average at .327 and in RBIs with 135. “I think it was the most consistent year,” he said. “I was pretty much hot April until almost September.”

Pujols has had 100 or more RBIs in each of his first nine sportbetting seasons. The only other player to do that was Hall of Famer Al Simmons who did it in 11 straight years. Pujols is just the fourth player in baseball history to win the NL MVP award three times.  Bonds won seven awards although those are now tainted.  Stan Musial, Roy Campanella and Mike Schmidt each won three. There have been five players that have won three AL MVP awards.  They are Jimmie Foxx, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle and Alex Rodriguez.

The Cardinals have won a total of 17 MVP awards and that trails only the New York Yankees who have 20 MVPs as sports betting online stats show. Pujols leads the Cardinals in sportbetting and is without question the best player in baseball.
