Internet gambling companies are expected to take some wagers on the unbeaten female horse Zenyatta on Sunday. She will be trying to get past Cigar, Citation and Mister Frisky in terms of consecutive wins when she runs in the $250,000 Vanity Handicap. Zenyatta will be heavily favored in horse racing online gambling odds as she looks for her 17th straight win.
Internet gambling companies don’t get a ton of action after the Triple Crown races until the Breeders’ Cup in the fall but whenever a superstar horse is running the action is higher. Zenyatta breezed six furlongs at Hollywood Park on Monday in 1:15.20. Zenyatta will be looking to win her record third straight Vanity on Sunday.
Zenyatta has won both of her starts this year with wins in the Santa Margarita Invitational Handicap at Santa Anita Park and the Apple Blossom Invitational Stakes on April at Oaklawn Park. Last year the horse won all five of her starts. She is trained by John Shirreffs and ridden by Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith who is coming off a win aboard Drosselmeyer in the Belmont Stakes.
Zenyatta’s competition on Sunday in online gambling odds looks to be St Trinians who is trained by Mike Mitchell and ridden by Martin Garcia. The horse finished sixth earlier this season against males in the Santa Anita Handicap. St Trinians won her first four starts in the United States and has been ridden by Joel Rosario. Garcia has been working the horse though and Mitchell decided to make the jockey change. St Trinians will be getting a big weight break from Zenyatta, at least 12 pounds or more. Other possible starters include Miss Silver Brook, Will O Way, Miss Pleasant, Third Dawn, and Wynning Ride.
Hollywood Park should be buzzing on Sunday with Zenyatta going for the record. It will also be a special day at the track as they will be giving away Zenyatta bobblehead dolls.
Zenyatta’s main rival, Rachel Alexandra will also be running this weekend but not in the same race. Rachel Alexandra is expected to go in either the Stephen Foster Handicap against males or in the Fleur de Lis against females. Whether Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra race against each other later this year is still in debate.
