Tough Early Schedule for Bears in Pro Football Betting

The Chicago Bears are getting some attention in pro football betting since they have a new offensive coordinator but some of the optimism in Chicago might be slowed by a tough early season schedule. The Bears should be a team that gets action with an NFL bet in their regular season opener as they host Detroit but three of their next four games are on the road.

Pro football betting odds favor the Bears against Detroit in Week 1 but Chicago could be an underdog in their next four games.  They are at Dallas in Week 2 for a tough game against the Cowboys.  They come home to host Green Bay on Monday Night Football on September 27th and then go on the road for games at the New York Giants and at Carolina. It is possible that Chicago will be a home underdog against the Packers and it is a virtual certainty they will be underdogs at Dallas and the Giants. They probably will be underdogs at Carolina as well.  Even though the Bears could be improved, they might be doing well to go 2-3 to start the season.  Chicago gets two home games before their bye as they host Seattle in Week 6 and Washington in Week 7.  Since the Seahawks and Redskins should be improved this season, neither of those two games will be easy.

Things don’t get that much easier for the Bears in pro football betting after their bye. They play the Buffalo Bills in Toronto in Week 9 in a game they should win.  They then host Minnesota in Week 10.  They have a Thursday night game in Miami in Week 11 and then come home in Week 12 to face the Philadelphia Eagles.  Chicago goes to Detroit in Week 13 and then the schedule gets brutal. You can make a case that Chicago has the toughest final four games of any team in the NFL for 2010.  They host New England in Week 14, go to Minnesota for a Monday night game in Week 15, host the New York Jets in Week 16 and then finish up at Green Bay.

Chicago could be improved this season and still finish at or below .500 because of their schedule so keep that in mind as you make an NFL bet on the Bears this season.
