NFL Week 4 Offers Plenty of Gambling Opportunity

Week 4 opens with an Amazon Prime Thursday night matchup between the visiting Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. Last year, Big Blue took a significant step back. Then-rookie head coach Brian Daboll led them to a playoff win in 2022. The obvious question is which version of the Giants gamblers will get in 2024. In like manner, which version of QB Daniel Jones will Giant fans get this year? Jones was a pleasant NFL odds surprise in 2022. But when the league was fully prepared for the Giants in 2023 Jones was not as effective.

NFL Week 4 Overview

The Cowboys return with head coach Mike McCarthy and QB Dak Prescott. Correlate that McCarthy and Prescott are tied at the hip for what is a Super Bowl or bust season. McCarthy has proven to be a coaching upgrade over Jason Garrett. But his lack of offshore bookmaker success in the playoffs has put him on the hot seat. Prescott is no longer the surprise sensation of his early days. In turn, he has not been nearly as effective since signing a huge contract in 2021. But this is the final year of Prescott’s contract. Thus, it could mean he is more focused on the season ahead.

In the late Sunday afternoon window, the Kansas City Chiefs hit the road to face Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers on CBS. Optimism reigns supreme with the arrival of Harbaugh. Since the Chargers moved to Los Angeles from San Diego, they have been an outcast as the unwanted stepchild. But Harbaugh figures to change that.

For the first time in his career, QB Justin Herbert has a credible offensive coach and QB whisperer. Kansas City has dominated the AFC West, winning it every year since 2016. However, bargain hunters see the Chargers as a team that could topple the Kansas City dynasty.

On NBC Sunday Night Football, the Baltimore Ravens will host the Buffalo Bills in a matchup of 2023 AFC playoff teams. Previously, Buffalo was said to be having its Super Bowl window closing. Consider that for much of 2023, that appeared to be the case. But the Bills rallied down the stretch to overcome the Miami Dolphins for the AFC East title.

By contrast, Baltimore remains a top NFL betting odds favorite to win the AFC championship. Thus, a matchup against the Bills will garner plenty of attention, evaluation, and betting handle.
