Historic Super Bowl Odds

December 1, 2010 NFL Football

Super Bowl odds will be historic as the Arizona Cardinals face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII.

Super Bowl betting history tells us that the Steelers will be going for their record sixth Super Bowl title while the Cardinals will be trying for their first. Pittsburgh is a 6.5 point Super Bowl betting favorite for the game on February 1st with a total of 47.

Super Bowl odds history tells us that the Cardinals have not won an NFL championship since 1947 and that was many years before the Super Bowl was even established. Super Bowl odds history shows that the Cardinals have the second longest drought in major sports without a title, second only to the Chicago Cubs historic 100 year failure. All is not lost for the Cardinals in Super Bowl odds though considering they have a former Super Bowl MVP in quarterback Kurt Warner. He knows how to win in Super Bowl odds and has proven he can take a team to the Super Bowl. The Cardinals also have perhaps the best wide receiver in the NFL in Larry Fitzgerald who has made opposing defenses look silly in the playoffs. He has already broken Jerry Rice’s record for most receiving yards in the postseason as Super Bowl odds stats show and that is before the Super Bowl has even been played.

Super Bowl odds history shows that Pittsburgh has even more experience. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger led the Steelers to the Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XL versus Seattle and wide receiver Hines Ward was the MVP as Super Bowl odds history shows. This season Pittsburgh has the #1 defense in the NFL led by defensive player of the year James Harrison and do everything safety Troy Polamalu. The matchup in Super Bowl betting of Warner against the vaunted Pittsburgh defense should be entertaining.

There is even more history to these Super Bowl odds. Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt was the offensive coordinator of Pittsburgh’s winning Super Bowl odds team but didn’t get the head coaching job in Pittsburgh. That job went to Mike Tomlin.

Super Bowl odds are always interesting with a number of storylines but Super Bowl XLIII seems to have more than its share. Super Bowl betting on Arizona and Pittsburgh should be exciting and historic.
