NBA Odds: Toronto Raptors vs. New York Knicks

March 20, 2012 NBA Basketball

The New York Knicks will be hosting the Toronto Raptors at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night. The game, which will be broadcast nationally in Canada on TSN, is the second game between the two teams this year. The teams are split 1-1 in these games.

The New York Knicks are 21-24 and are only half a game ahead of Milwaukee for the final playoff spot in their conference. The Knicks hired Mike Woodson as the team’s interim head coach after Mike D’Antoni was let go last week. The Knicks have gone 3-0 under Woodson’s run. The most recent game was a 102-88 win on Saturday in Indiana.  Start your NBA Basketball Betting action on San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder game

Baron Davis will not be playing against the Raptors. Davis has a hamstring injury that has limited his playing time for much of the season. However, Carmelo Anthony has removed from an earlier injury this year and is getting 20.7 points per game. Amare Stoudemire has 17.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while Jeremy Lin is getting 14.7 points and 6.3 assists in each game. All three players are getting at least 75% of their free throws this year.

The Toronto Raptors are 15-30 and have not been able to get consecutive wins since late January. The last game for the Raptors was a 107-103 loss in Charlotte on Saturday.

Jose Calderon will start for the Raptors during the game. Calderon experienced an ankle injury earlier this month and missed the last five games as a result. Calderon has been an asset in assists this year. He has 8.5 assists per game. Meanwhile, Andrea Bagnani leads the Raptors with 20.2 points and has gotten right back to his pre-injury playing time. He is only attempting around ten to fifteen field goals a game instead of the twenty or more that he used to have each game.

The Knicks are the favorites to win the game, according to all the basketball odds. The Knicks are -8.5 favorites for the game. The over/under is listed at 198.
