Milwaukee Bucks lose to Atlanta Hawks 97-86

hand dunking basketball through hoopOn Sunday the 22nd of Feb. 2015 we saw the 2014-15 NBA regular season game between the Eastern Conference Leader Atlanta Hawks who are 44-12 playing the Milwaukee Bucks 31-24 and the game was played at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and tip-off time was 3:30 PM ET.

The Hawks of Atlanta are 25-4 at home and 19-8 on the road while the Bucks of Milwaukee are 16-11 at home and 13-14 on the road. In this game with the exception of the 3rd quarter was pretty much controlled by the Hawks. In the 1st quarter of the 1st half of the game the Hawks scored 22 points while the Buck scored 13 points and the Bucks fell behind the Hawks by 9 points in the 1st. In the 2nd quarter the Hawks scored some 26 point while the Bucks scored 22 points and the game went to half-time with the Hawks 48 and the Bucks 35. The second half of this game saw the Bucks start with a 13 point deficit and in the third quarter they outscored the 29 to the Hawks 18 so the Bucks reduced their deficit to 2 points. In the 4th and final quarter the Hawks came storming back and outscored the Bucks 31-22 and the game ended with the Hawks 97 and the Bucks 86.

It’s kind of strange but the Hawk’s have struggled against the Bucks in the shooting percent as in 4 of Atlanta’s worst shooting percentage games, two were played against the Milwaukee Bucks, and in yesterday’s game they only had a 40.3 percent rating for shots from the field.

The top 5 performers for the Hawks in this game were forward-Milan-23 points 16 rebounds, center-Horford-15 8 rebounds, guard-Korver-12 points 2 rebounds, guard-Schroder-12 points 2 rebounds off the bench and forward-Carroll-10 points and 2 rebounds.

Looking at the team statistics in the game, the Hawks made 35 of the 87 field goal shots for a 40% completion, while the Bucks made 32 of their 75 field goal shots for 44 % completion. On

In the game the Hawks had a total of 43 rebounds, 23 assists, 7 blocks, 10 steals and committed some 10 fouls. The Bucks had a total of 38 rebounds, 19 assists, 7 blocks, 10 steals and committed 10 fouls also in the game.

In this game, the team with the best record in the Eastern Conference the Hawks of Atlanta, had just come of two straight losses, thus this win enabled them to avoid a 3 game slide, as in the 4th quarter they were able to rally and beat Milwaukee. As many of the Media have said, the offense of the Hawks has been noticed, like their shooting touch, their easy motions, sharing of the ball, but their 6th ranked defense has not been talked about that much, but in this game their defense locked in on the Bucks in the 4th quarter for their win at 97-86.
