Make a Basketball Playoffs Bet on Saturday

November 30th, 2010 NBA Basketball

SBG Global invites you to make a basketball playoffs bet on Saturday, April 17th as the NBA Playoffs begin.

You can see the games on ABC, ESPN, TNT, and NBA-TV.  There are 16 teams on the basketball betting board in the eight series.

As you make your basketball playoffs bet, you will notice that the odds feature eight teams from each of the two conferences.  Each team is seeded one through eight.  Each of the series in the playoffs is a best-of-seven.  The favorites in the 2010 NBA Playoffs are the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Other teams given a realistic shot to win are Orlando, Boston, Denver and Dallas.

One team that may not be at full strength in the NBA playoffs is the Portland Trail Blazers.  Their star guard Brandon Roy has a torn meniscus in his right knee and his status is uncertain.  He did not play in the last two games of the regular season against Oklahoma City and Golden State.  Roy will need surgery to repair the tear but Roy said he might play with the injury and have surgery after the season. "I want to play," said Roy, "It’s the playoffs. You play 82 games and take a beating just to get to this point."  Roy leads the Blazers in scoring at 21.5 points per game.  He was hurt in Sunday’s 91-88 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The only good news for the Blazers is that they won’t have to face the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round.  It probably won’t matter who they face though if they don’t have Roy.  In a seven-game series they are unlikely to win against Denver, Dallas or Utah without their best player.

When you look to make a basketball playoffs bet you will have some different options.  In addition to the normal side and total you will also be able to bet on the series. Before the series begins you will have odds on each team to win the series.  This gives you the option of making just one bet for the series and being in action every game.  It is a nice option to consider, especially if you don’t want to bet every game.  It also gives you some hedging opportunities later in the series as you can then bet individual games to protect your series bet.  The NBA playoffs are a great time for those that love basketball betting
