Baseball Wagering – Clash of Division Leaders on ESPN 2

November 30th, 2010 Betting on MLB Baseball

A very attractive matchup in baseball wagering is on ESPN on Wednesday as the Minnesota Twins visit the Texas Rangers.

The Twins are leading the American League Central while the Rangers are leading the American League West.  What makes this matchup even more compelling in MLB wagering is the pitching matchup.

Baseball wagering at SBG Global will favor the Rangers since they are at home.  Texas has been very good at home this season but they will get tested in this game against the Twins.

Super Pitching Matchup:  It would be hard to find a better pitching matchup in baseball than this one on Wednesday.  When you look at the names you see Brian Duensing and C.J. Wilson.  Those names may not be familiar to you but their numbers are great.  Duensing is 7-1 on the season with a 1.92 ERA.

He has been virtually untouchable since joining the Minnesota starting rotation in July.  He is 4-0 with a 2.18 ERA in six starts. In his last three starts he is 3-0 with a 1.48 ERA. He has also pitched well in his career against the Rangers going 1-1 with a 1.74 ERA.  On the other side, Wilson has been fantastic this season.

He is 12-5 with a 3.02 ERA and he is unbeaten in seven starts since July 11th.  Last time out he allowed only three hits in eight innings in a win over Baltimore.  In his last three starts he is 2-0 with a 1.25 ERA.  He is 0-2 in his career against the Twins with a 3.41 ERA.

Under the Total:  Both Minnesota and Texas can hit but with the numbers that Duensing and Wilson have been putting up recently the game on Wednesday sure looks like an under.

The question we should ask is whether the Twins and Rangers go under the total when they play.  Before this series began the teams had gone under in four of their last six meetings.

Twins Plus Money:  The Twins could be worth a shot at plus money on Wednesday.  They had beaten the Rangers in 13 of the last 20 before this series began.  Minnesota is just above the .500 mark on the road so they are capable of winning away from Target Field.
