Golf Betting Season Has Been Interesting at SBG Global

November 30th, 2010 Golf Betting

Golf betting is a sporting interest that can vary from season to season much more than any other professional sport.

One year the online golf betting competition can be completely dominated by one man and the next it can be wide open. This year’s golf betting has seen all kinds of unpredictable and still has plenty of excitement left to offer before it draws to a close.

Golf betting fans saw the season get off to a roaring start with world number one Tiger Woods dominated in the fashion that has come to define his career in online golf betting competition. After rattling off several wins early, beginning in July, he was appeared poised to have one of his greatest seasons ever. He headed into the 2008 competition playing head and shoulders above his competition and it looked as though he would stroll through the majors and perhaps put together his best golf betting season ever. But the Masters came around and surprisingly, Tiger did not hoist the cup. A knee injury later sidelined him and he was out of action until the US Open.

At the US Open Tiger put on one of the greatest spectacles in the history of golf betting and claimed his 14th Major title. But it came at quite a cost. He sustained more damage to knee and all of a sudden an online golf betting season that seemed as if it might be one for the record books came to a premature close. Woods sustained ligament damage and a fractured tibia, requiring him to go under the knife and miss the rest of the golf betting season.

In most cases that single event would be enough to derail the entire golf betting for the rest of the PGA season. But that hasn’t been the case. In fact, this year the golf betting on the PGA has been extraordinary, and although Woods’ presence is always highly beneficial to the Tour, his absence has created opportunity for others to step up in the online golf betting.

Just last week, in the British Open golf betting event, we saw a fantastic and compelling battle take place. The legend Greg Norman came within a whisker of winning another golf betting Major title at the age of 53 only to have Padraig Harrington become the first European to win back to back online golf betting titles in a century.

Woods absence in the golf betting scene is greatly missed but it’s hardly been the death knell many had predicted.
