Classic Could Include Zenyatta Breeders Cup Wagering

November 30th, 2010 Breeders Cup Betting

Breeders Cup wagering on the Breeders Cup Classic could include the superstar filly Zenyatta.

Trainer John Shirreffs said that Zenyatta would run in the five million dollar Breeders’ Cup Classic as long as she continues to work well.  If Zenyatta is in the Classic she would be a solid Breeders Cup betting favorite.

Breeders Cup wagering is going to favorite Zenyatta regardless of whether she runs in the Classic on Saturday, November 7th or the previous day in the Ladies’ Classic.  If she races in the Breeders Cup Classic though it will peak interest and be huge for Breeders Cup wagering. “If she works well Saturday and continues to train well the following week, we’ll definitely lean toward the Classic,” Shirreffs said, “Mike Smith has had a large input in the discussions and has indicated several times he believes the Classic distance would not be a problem for her.”

Both the Ladies’ Classic and the Breeders Cup Classic have big purses but the Breeders Cup Classic is a huge Breeders Cup wagering race.  Zenyatta would increase Breeders Cup betting interest and really get people interested. “She has a great shot to win the Ladies Classic, which has a very large purse. But the Classic is an opportunity to try to garner Horse of the Year honors, and to not run her when she’s doing so well would be a mistake.” Shirreffs said, “Mr. Moss said it’s not about Horse of the Year as much as it is to see her compete at the highest level.” Zenyatta has been so great that she has won the first 13 starts of her career and would be the Breeders Cup wagering favorite even against the males.

There are eight races in Breeders Cup wagering on Saturday with the final race being the Classic.  There are six races on Friday in Breeders Cup wagering with the Ladies’ Classic being the last race.  Breeders Cup wagering on Friday begins with the Marathon and is followed by the Juvenile Fillies Turf and the Juvenile Fillies.  They are followed in Breeders Cup wagering by the Filly & Mare Turf, the Filly & Mare Sprint and the Ladies’ Classic in Breeders Cup wagering.  Saturday’s Breeders Cup wagering begins with the Juvenile Turf.  It is followed in Breeders Cup betting by the Turf Sprint, the Sprint, the Juvenile, the Mile, the Dirt Mile, the Turf and the $5 million dollar Breeders’ Cup Classic which concludes Breeders Cup betting.
