Horse Racing Triple Crown at SBG Global Sports Betting

Horse racing Triple Crown refers to the three races in the United States that are held each year. They are the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes. Winning the Triple Crown is considered one of the greatest achievements in all of sports and only 11 horses have ever won in Triple Crown wagering.

Horse racing Triple Crown races begin with the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky on the first Saturday in May. That is followed in the Triple Crown by the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland in two weeks. The last race in the horse racing Triple Crown is the Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in Elmont, New York and it is held two weeks after the Preakness. The horse racing Triple Crown has seen 11 winners with Sir Barton winning the first in 1919 although the term Triple Crown didn’t take hold until Gallant Fox won in 1930.

The horse racing Triple Crown has seen only 11 winners. They are:

1919 Sir Barton
1930 Gallant Fox
1935 Omaha
1937 War Admiral
1941 Whirlaway
1943 Count Fleet
1946 Assault
1948 Citation
1973 Secretariat
1977 Seattle Slew
1978 Affirmed

There are many reasons the list of Triple Crown winners is so small. All three races are run within a five week time period which means the winning horse has to be in excellent condition to win in Triple Crown wagering. All three races are at different distances and that means the Triple Crown winner must be versatile. Another factor is the distance of the Belmont. Horses just are not ready to go a mile and a half and even if a horse wins the first two races in Triple Crown wagering they usually fall short in the third.

Triple Crown races are definitely some of the most popular races of the year. Most fans around the world love to bet the Kentucky Derby in Triple Crown wagering and if a horse grabs their attention they carry that interest over to the Preakness and to the Belmont in Triple Crown betting.
