Heisman Trophy Odds at the Online Sportsbook

Heisman Trophy Odds at the Online Sportsbook to Bet On. Online sportsbook odds are available on the 2009 Heisman Trophy race. When you bet the Heisman Trophy race at the sportsbook you are in action all season since the award is not announced until after the season is over.  Here is a look at some of the contenders in Heisman Trophy odds at the online sportsbook.

Online sportsbook odds favor three quarterbacks to win the award in 2009.  Florida quarterback Tim Tebow who won the award two years ago and last year’s winner, Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford will be trying to win it for the second time.  They are listed at 2-1 at the sportsbook along with Texas quarterback Colt McCoy.

After the top three at the online sportsbook, the sports betting odds go up substantially since most sports betting gamblers don’t believe anyone else can win. There is only one other player with single digit sports betting odds at the online sportsbook and that is Ohio State’s Terrelle Pryor.  Unless the Buckeyes go unbeaten it is unlikely that Pryor has any kind of chance in online betting though since McCoy, Tebow and Bradford are likely to put up huge numbers.  Tebow scored 42 touchdowns last year and he is a popular pick at the online sportsbook.  McCoy scored 43 touchdowns last year while Bradford had 50 touchdowns to win the award.

There are a lot of longshots at the online sportsbook to win the Heisman Trophy.    California running back Jahvid Best is listed at 10-1 at the online sportsbook while Evan Royster and Jonathan Dwyer are 12-1.  Jevan Snead is 15-1 and Darryl Clark is 18-1 at the online sportsbook.  All of these players are real longshots at the online sportsbook because they play for teams that are unlikely to challenge for the national championship.  It is tough for a player to win in Heisman odds at the sportsbook if his team is not among the Top 10.  That is why Tebow, Bradford and McCoy are heavy favorites since Florida, Oklahoma and Texas are three of the best teams in the country.

CJ Spiller and Todd Reesing are listed at 18-1 but in reality they should be more like 100-1 at the online sportsbook.  The rest of the players have sportsbook odds of 20-1 or more.  Longshots are interesting in some things at the online sportsbook but in the Heisman Trophy race this year they probably are not going to be profitable.
