Finley Joining the Celtics

Finley Joining the Celtics. Sportsbook stats have reported that the Boston Celtics are improving their roster as they have added veteran Michael Finley. The Celtics are still considered NBA title contenders although they are behind Cleveland and Orlando in the Eastern Conference.  Perhaps the addition of Finley will help their sportsbook online chances.

Sportsbook fans last saw Finley with the San Antonio Spurs.  The Spurs let Finley go earlier this week and now the Celtics have picked him up.  A few other teams would have liked to add Finley for the playoffs including the Los Angeles Lakers but the Celtics had the money to make it happen.  Finley has not had a great sportsbook season but he is considered an excellent playoff performer. He is only averaging 3.7 points per game this season but is a playoff winner as sportsbook online numbers indicate.  He is a 37.4 percent 3-point shooter and gives the Celtics and outside threat.  Last sportsbook year he averaged 8 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist per game in five games with the Spurs. His career sportsbook online numbers are solid in the playoffs at 13.6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game.

The Celtics have been beset by injuries this season as sportsbook indicated so the addition of Finley gives them some insurance.  The Celtics really need some younger players but that is for the sportsbook off-season.  Boston still believes they have a shot at making the NBA Finals if everything goes right.  Celtics president of operations Danny Ainge didn’t want everyone to get too excited though. “I don’t think he’ll make the difference in whether we raise another championship banner,” Ainge said.  Head coach Doc Rivers was a little bit more optimistic. “I don’t think a veteran ever hurts,” Rivers said, “I think it always helps your team to have one, if it’s the right one. Every team has some holes. Shooting is one thing we can’t have enough of as far as I’m concerned. You look at some of these other teams, their shooting is ridiculous.”

The Celtics probably don’t have enough to contend even with the addition of Finley.  Boston is old and they simply don’t have enough offensive weapons to win consistently vs. the sportsbook number. Kevin Garnett is nowhere near an All-Star anymore and Paul Pierce has looked injured.  Ray Allen has had his moments and impacted sportsbook online results but his best days are behind him. Only Rajon Rondo looks energized for the Celtics.
