Sports Betting Online – Rays Sign Ramirez and Damon.  The Tampa Bay Rays are going to look much different in sports betting online this baseball season.  The Rays lost a number of high profile stars but they did sign two big names in Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon.  The Rays are expected to slip this season in sports betting but if Ramirez and Damon can make an impact then perhaps the Rays can be better than expected.

Former Teammates
Ramirez and Damon are former teammates who played with the Boston Red Sox when they won the World Series in 2004. The Rays are hoping that each player has a little bit left.  The Rays signed Damon to a $5.25 million dollar one-year deal while they signed Ramirez for one year for $2 million. Damon hit .271 with eight home runs and 51 RBIs for the Detroit Tigers last season.  Ramirez was hurt for much of last season but he still is a capable hitter. He has a career batting average of .313 and has 555 career home runs. He had nine home runs and 42 RBIs in 90 games last season. Manny has driven in 100 runs in his career a total of 11 times but he has not had more than 88 RBIs since 2007.  The Rays are looking to play Damon in left field while Ramirez will be the DH.

Tampa’s Losses
The Rays are in cost cutting mode as they have already lost Carl Crawford, Carlos Pena, Rafael Soriano, Matt Garza, Jason Bartlett, Joaquin Benoit, Dan Wheeler and Chad Qualls.  It is not all bad news for the Rays though as they got some great young players from the Cubs in the Garza deal and the farm system for Tampa is stacked.

Tampa Bay 20-1 at SBG
The Rays are 20-1 in sports betting online to win the World Series this season. Those odds are way too low.  The Rays lost a lot in the off-season and they are simply a year or two away from some of the young talent they have to make an impact at the Major League level.  Ramirez and Damon were great players in their prime but neither is that good anymore.  Tampa has a great manager in Joe Maddon and their starting rotation is still pretty good but their lineup is weak and their bullpen is terrible.  The Rays should probably be more like 40-1 ore more to win the World Series.
