Alabama Favored in College Football Futures – Sports betting

Sports betting on college football can always be ongoing as futures are up on the board pretty quickly for the following season. Alabama is the Internet sports betting favorite to defend their title while Texas is a bit down the list.Sports betting will have Alabama as about a 2-1 favorite to repeat in 2010.  The Crimson Tide were led this past season by their defense but next year it will be their offense that rolls.

The Tide might have just three returning starters on defense.  The offense returns eight starters though including Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, quarterback Greg McElroy and wide receiver Julio Jones.  Alabama has a great recruiting class as well so don’t look for much of a drop off on defense especially since Nick Saban is a defensive guru.  The Tide has their toughest Internet sports betting test at home against Florida but not to be forgotten are road games at Tennessee and LSU.

The second choice in college football sports betting futures could be Ohio State. The Buckeyes return 10 of their 11 starters on offense and they return four starters on defense.  Those Internet sports betting numbers might change if Justin Boren and Cameron Heyward head for the NFL.  The Buckeyes will be led again by Terrelle Pryor and he should only get better.  What does hurt the Buckeyes is that they did not have a strong recruiting class.  What helps them in Internet sports betting is that their only tough non-conference game is against Miami and they get Penn State and Michigan at home.

You may be surprised to find Oregon as one of the leading contenders in sports betting to win the national title next season but don’t be.  The Ducks are likely to return 20 of their 22 starters.  The offense is simply loaded with
Quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and running back LaMichael James returning.  The defense should be improved with some nice recruits coming in.  The schedule does not help Oregon in sports betting though as they have to go to Tennessee, USC, California and Oregon State.

Texas is not going to be favored to win it all in sports betting.  They don’t have Colt McCoy and many expect that Garrett Gilbert is going to need time.  Also gone is Jordan Shipley and most of the offensive line.  The Texas defense should be good though with eight starters returning.  It is also a great class of recruits coming in for Mack Brown.  What does help Texas in sports betting is an easy schedule with the toughest road game at Nebraska.
