Internet Betting – Johnson & Gordon Switch Pit Crews

There are just two races left in NASCAR Internet betting this season but the excitement is high, especially on Jimmie Johnson’s team. Johnson trails Denny Hamlin by 33 points with two races remaining and the online betting news this week is the pit crew change of Johnson’s team.  Crew chief Chad Knaus benched his crew in favor of Jeff Gordon’s crew and that has stirred things up in NASCAR.

Teamwork
Jimmie Johnson is not the four-time Sprint Cup champion for any reason. He has the best crew chief in NASCAR in Chad Knaus and his crew chief made a bold move this week.  Actually the move happened in last week’s race as he benched the No. 48 pit crew in favor of Jeff Gordon’s No. 24 crew.  Johnson’s pit crew had not been doing a very good job all year and Knaus had finally seen enough.  Knaus knew that Johnson couldn’t win the title if his pit crew kept giving away spots on the track.  Now it will be interesting to watch how Gordon’s crew does working on Johnson’s car. It should be noted that Johnson and Gordon work under the Hendrick motorsports umbrella so it is not like the people don’t know each other.

If this move works it will make Knaus look like a genius.  If it doesn’t then he lost nothing.  Not many people would be willing to roll the dice and change pit crews with just two races remaining but Knaus did it and it just might work. Some people outside of NASCAR will not understand the move but Hendrick is a family and if Johnson wins the title then the other two teams will celebrate and they all will get credit.  And if this works then it will be the greatest move in the history of NASCAR and Knaus will be regarded as the best crew chief in history although most people think he already is.

J.J. Favored this Week
Johnson is the 3-1 favorite in Internet betting at SBG to win this week’s race in Phoenix at a track he normally does very well at and if he gets the win there he could be in position to win the championship again in the last race of the season in Miami.
