Online Bookmaker – San Francisco Star Out for the Season

Online Bookmaker – San Francisco Star Out for the Season. One of the best running backs in the NFL is out for the season although the odds at the online bookmaker will not move very much. The San Francisco 49ers beat Arizona on Monday night and easily covered the offshore betting odds at the Sbg sportsbook but in the process they lost All-Pro running back Frank Gore to a hip injury that will end his season.

Gore’s Replacement
The good news for San Francisco is that Brian Westbrook looked great on Monday night in relief of Gore.  He rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown in the win over Arizona. Before Monday’s game, Westbrook had carried the ball just five times for nine yards. On Monday he carried it 23 times and looked great. Westbrook actually led the league in rushing back in 2007 but because of his injury problems he was released by Philadelphia a year ago.

49ers a Game Out of First
The 49ers are just 4-7 but in the NFC West they are only a game out of first place.  The 49ers are 3-1 with Troy Smith as their starting quarterback and they have a chance in the division. The 49ers rushed for a total of 261 yards in the win over Arizona and they gave up just 13 yards to Arizona’s offense.  They are just the fifth team since 1986 to rush for 250 yards or more and also hold the other team to 20 yards or less on the ground.

Reality Check
The 49ers are going to get a huge reality check this week in football odds at the online bookmaker.  So they beat rotten Arizona.  The Cardinals are a horrible football team right now so that win doesn’t mean much.  Let’s see how San Francisco does this week at Green Bay against a Packers team coming off a tough loss at Atlanta.  The 49ers will probably lose at Green Bay which would give them eight losses on the season and in any other division they would be out of the playoff chase but not in the NFC West. They will then host Seattle the following week in offshore betting and with a win they might be right back in the race again.  That is how it is in the NFC West this season.
