2006 Oakland Raiders and football betting
2006 football betting season review: It was a horrible football betting season for the NFL betting team Oakland Raiders in 2006. The Raiders set a new franchise mark for losses in a football betting season, finished last in yards and points scored and eventually fired head coach Art Shell after that football betting time period.

There were very few positives about 2006 football betting season for the Oakland Raiders and even football betting fans were unhappy as the Raiders went 6-10 ATS. One group of football betting players that found success with Oakland Raiders football betting games were those that bet the under. Since the Raiders couldn’t score, most of their games went under the total and NFL betting players that looked to bet Raider games under the total were rewarded with a 12-3-1 NFL betting record.

There was no team as bad as the Raiders in 2006 football betting period. This once proud franchise among football betting fans sunk to new lows last football betting season and came in dead last among all NFL betting teams with two measly wins. One of those wins, though, it should be noted, came against the defending Super Bowl champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers. So perhaps that is some consolation to the Raider Nation and the NFL betting players. Not likely, and the bad news it that this team looks as though it will continue in its losing ways until it can get some talent on its roster. In 2006 football betting season there was very little that this team could do well. It is absolutely awful across the board, at almost every position. Except at wide receiver where this team is loaded, with the likes of Randy Moss and Jerry Porter, but having a Ferrari without any wheels; it looks good on paper but these guys can’t throw themselves the ball. It was an awful performance during the football betting season.
New coach Art Shell was brought in for a second go round as the head coach here in Oakland. He was fired after the football betting season, or chose not to come back, either way, he’s much better off now. There is very little reason to believe that this team will produce anything approximating success in the next few football betting seasons. You could choose pretty much any spot on the team and single it out for criticism. The QB spot is awful. In the off season Aaron Brooks formerly of the New Orleans Saints was brought in as the cure, even as every other team wouldn’t touch him with a ten-foot pole.
Brooks was awful and the position soon became by committee almost. After Brooks struggle to complete 57% of his passes, and throw for 1100 yards with 3 TDs and 8 INTs for a 61 QB NFL betting rating, the team had seen enough. He was benched and in came Andrew Walter the draft pick from the previous football betting year out of Arizona State. Walter was actually even worst. He only completed 53% of his passes, threw for 1600 yards, but had a TD to INT NFL betting ration of 3/13. His QB NFL betting rating of 55 was the worst in the league for a starting QB. So you can understand with quarterbacking like this, it was no wonder that the receivers failed to make much of an impact during the football betting season.
In fact, with defenses keying on the only player of any real ability, Randy Moss wasn’t even the leading receiver on the team last football betting year. He was beat out by the unheralded Ronald Curry. Curry hauled in 62 passes for 727 yards and one TD. Moss on the other hand caught only 42 balls for 553 yards and three TDs. But more troubling was the fact that Moss, who’s made a career of stretching the field only average 13 yards per catch. In the backfield Justin Vargas ended up carrying the offensive load as LaMont Jordan went down with injury. On the ground the Raiders attack proved to be as futile as in the air. Neither of their two feature backs averaged more than 3.8 yards a carry and combined their three top rushers combined for only about 1200 yards and scored three touchdowns. The offense was pathetic, one of the worst seen on any football betting season.
Not that the defense was all that great, but at least they did well in certain aspects of the game. For example, this football betting stat will probably surprise everyone, but the Raiders actually ranked number against the pass in the entire NFL football betting games allowing only a stingy 150 yards passing per game. But that could be result of limited pass attempts. When you are giving up 134 yards a game on the ground there really isn’t much point to pass. But in total yards allowed this defense was also very greedy giving up only 284 yards a game, good enough for third in the entire football betting league. But the kicker here was the 20 points a game that it gave it up, which ranked 18th in the league and nullified all the other good defensive work.
This unit was all over the field. The team ranked second in the NFL football betting in pick offs and the secondary single handedly beat the Steelers running back INTs for scores on a day when the offense gained three yards total. Warren Sapp had a resurgence ten sacks and Derrick Burgess was a revelation with 11 sacks. Also Nnamdi Asomugha had eight picks. Without strong play from this unit and these players, the team probably wouldn’t have won any football betting games.
