Betting College Football – Duke at Virginia Tech on ESPN

Virginia Tech is heavily favored on Saturday and is likely to get a lot of action from gamblers betting college football.

The Hokies host Duke on Saturday in a game that can be seen on ESPN.  Before you go plunking down a lot of money on Virginia Tech in college football betting online, there are a few things you should know.

Taylor and Williams Banged Up – The Hokies are not at full strength. Yes, running back Ryan Williams and quarterback Tyrod Taylor may play this week but neither is totally healthy.  Head coach Frank Beamer said that he told Williams that he needs to be 100 percent or not play.  Most players don’t heed that advice though so Williams may try to play. He has a hamstring issue and it has hurt his quickness.   Beamer said that Taylor is sore but that he will play this week against Duke.

Duke is 1-5 SU but 3-3 ATS – The Blue Devils are just 1-5 straight up and have not won since beating Elon in their opening game but they are 3-3 against the point spread.  They are averaging just 16 points a game over their last four but last week they covered against Miami as they lost by just 15.  In that game they turned the ball over seven times and scored only 13 points but they still covered.  Quarterback Sean Renfree threw five interceptions and also fumbled a snap. He has 10 TDs and 14 interceptions this season.

Tech is 5-2 SU and 5-2 ATS - The Hokies lost their first two games of the season but since then have won five straight.  They blew away Wake Forest last week and their offense is rolling.  Taylor threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns last week. In the last three games he has thrown for 576 yards and 7 TDs.

As you look at betting college football at SBG with this game keep in mind that the Blue Devils are 6-0-1 against the college football betting online point spread in their last 7 games in October while the Hokies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite. Virginia Tech is a 26-point favorite but they have the offense to cover this number against Duke.
