NBA Gambling: Spurs vs. Hornets

Its game one tonight, of an actual 82 game NBA season, for the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Hornets. The opening tip off in New Orleans Arena is scheduled for 8:05 PM ET with the game being available to view on the NBA Network.

San Antonio is much the same team you saw last year when they tied the Chicago Bulls for most wins in the NBA at 50. Given the strike-shortened season, they lost just 16 times in 66 contests. There will be a bad taste in the mouth of these Spurs after blowing a 2-0 series lead to the Thunder in last years playoffs and proceeding to lose 4 in a row to be eliminated. San Antonio will once again be led by veterans Tony Parker and Tim Duncan. Parker averaged 18 points and 8 assists last year, while Duncan contributed 16 points and 9 rebounds. Manu Ginobeli is out with back spasms. Check the NBA Gambling Odds for the Spurs vs. Hornets Game.

New Orleans, which went 21-45 last year, presents a different unit from that of 2011, which should be much improved. For starters, 2012 overall number one draft pick C/PF Anthony Davis will be in the lineup and newly acquired center Brook Lopez should solidify the front court. Another new addition is F Ryan Anderson. Look for Docs kid, Austin Rivers to provide a spark off the bench.

These two teams last met in April 2012, with the Spurs winning 128-103. In that one, the Spurs were 11 point favorites. In a March 2012 matchup, the Spurs won 89-86. The Hornets covered that game as 5 point underdogs. The Spurs have won 4 of the last 5 games, and 8 of the last 10.

The total has gone UNDER in 3 of the last 5 meetings between the two, and UNDER in 6 of the last 10 games. Start your NBA Gambling action on the Spurs vs. Hornets Game.

San Antonio is a 6 ½ point (-$110) road favorite from Sports Book, and the O/U is 188, also at -$110.
