Basketball Betting – 2010-2011 Oklahoma City Thunder Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder is a team that many gamblers believe can challenge the Los Angeles Lakers in basketball betting this season.

The Thunder has one of the best players in the league in Kevin Durant and they could be a team that is worth following in NBA basketball betting this season.

Odds to Win the NBA Title at Sbgglobal – 14-1
The Thunder is 14-1 to win the NBA title this season.  Those odds may be lower than you might have expected but Oklahoma City might be the second best team in the Western Conference behind the Lakers.

Season Win Total 51.5
The Thunder won 50 games last season and they look to be better than they were a year ago.  Gamblers are starting to take this number over as it still seems too low.

Last Year’s Record – 50-32 SU, 48-34 ATS
The Thunder was good both straight up and against the spread last season.  They were a good bet on most nights.  This season the Thunder may not be quite as good against the NBA basketball betting point spread because they are not going to go under the radar as they did a year ago.

Projected Starting Lineup
Guard – Russell Westbrook
Guard – Thabo Sefolosha
Center – Nenad Krstic
Forward – Kevin Durant
Forward – Jeff Green

The Thunder is going to be a contender in the Western Conference in basketball betting as long as they stay healthy.  What you want to remember about Oklahoma City is that everything went right last season. They avoided injuries and played very well.  The Thunder are going to be very good again, but only if they can avoid injury. They are a young team that does not yet have the depth to survive an injury to one of their star players.  The positive for Oklahoma City is that Durant is only getting better. This may be the season that he gets recognized as the top player in the league.  Kobe Bryant is getting older and LeBron James may not put up huge numbers since he has more talent in Miami.  It could be Durant that takes over the mantle as the league’s best player.  Oklahoma City also has improving players like Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook who don’t get the credit they deserve.  The Thunder is a good team that is only going to get better.
