Who’s Favored in the 2015 T20 Big Bash?

T20 cricket matchThe KFC T20 Big Bash League will bring out many of the world’s top T20 cricket stars to Australia. The odds for winning the 2015-16 edition of the league are rather close.

Who’s the Favorite?

The Melbourne Stars are +350 favorites in the cricket betting odds to win at the Big Bash. Michael Clarke will be back as the team’s captain after spending the last few years with the Sydney Thunder. Former New Zealand national team captain Stephen Fleming will be the Stars’ coach.

Who’s In Second?

There are three teams that have +500 odds from our sportsbook to win the title. The Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers all have good shots to win.

The Hurricanes are hoping to bring the first Big Bash title to Tasmania this year. Experienced test cricket player Darren Sammy, who is originally from St. Lucia, will be playing for the Hurricanes as an overseas player. Kumar Sangakkara, who has more than a hundred test matches under his belt with Sri Lanka, will also be an overseas player for the Hurricanes.

The Melbourne Renegades have a new coach in David Saker, the former fast bowling coach for the English national team. Meanwhile, the Perth Scorchers have won the last two Big Bash titles and are hoping to add to their success. England’s Michael Carberry will be back for the Scorchers as an overseas player.

Who’s In the Back?

The Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder both have the worst betting odds to win with +800 odds each. The Heat have a mostly right-handed roster with Chris Lynn being the only lefty on the team. The Thunder, who did not finish in last place last year like they have in every other season, will be captained by Michael Hussey, a player who was a part of the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL in recent time.

This should prove to be a good year for the T20 Big Bash. The Perth Scorchers will certainly be trying to make a run for another title but the Melbourne Stars will do what they can to take back the league.
