NASCAR Odds Background on the Shelby 427 at SBG Global

NASCAR odds fans may not be familiar with the Shelby 427, but rest assured it is a must see NASCAR betting odds show down.

The NASCAR odds race formerly known as UAW-400 event has now become known as the Shelby 427. And despite yet another name change this race is one of the great western NASCAR odds competition on the racing calendar.

NASCAR odds event sponsors like Chrysler and the United Auto Workers inevitably had to cut sponsorship budgets in the tough economic climate and with the auto industry struggling the way it is. But because of this NASCAR betting odds event’s high profile it didn’t take long for racing legend Carroll Shelby and his company to step in and provide sponsorship for this marquee NASCAR odds event.

Due to the climate the far southwest provides and ideal location to stage the early season races of the NASCAR betting odds season. After the Daytona 500 NASCAR odds event the circuit heads west to southern California and than to Vegas for this NASCAR odds jewel. The racing in the Nevada this time of year is about as perfect as it gets in the world of NASCAR odds. The temperature is warm, but not too warm, the air is dry and the tires stick, but they don’t get greasy nearly as quickly in more humid locales later on in the NASCAR odds season.

The Shelby 427 is held at the Las Vegas International Speedway which is one of the most interesting tracks on the NASCAR odds season. With 20 degree banking and medium speedway length of 1.5 miles this track is unique among the many other cookie cutter NASCAR odds tracks.

Since the race’s inaugural run in 1998 there have been a handful of winners at this NASCAR odds event and also a few repeat winners on this track. The most successful of drivers on in the NASCAR odds here has been hands down, three-time NASCAR betting odds champion, and current NASCAR champ, Jimmie Johnson. Johnson has dominated this event and won three straight races between 2005 and 2007.

Matt Kenseth also found NASCAR odds pay dirt here in back to back years in 2003 and 2004. But reigning champ Carl Edwards may be the favorite heading into this year’s NASCAR odds event. He knocked Johnson out of the winners circle last year and is coming off a hugely successful 2008 NASCAR odds campaign.
