WNBA Set for Greatest Heights in 2025

The 2025 WNBA future odds season brings anticipation and excitement for the WBA, its fans, and gamblers. Following its epic 2024 season, the W has strong tailwinds. It was the most transformative season in its history. The arrival of Caitlin Clark changed the dynamics of the WNBA and its brand.

Previously, fans and gamblers ignored The W. In 2024, they tuned in and attended games in record numbers. The W saw a 48% increase in attendance for the 2024 campaign. Additionally, 22 WNBA games attracted over one million TV viewers. From a gambling perspective, sportsbooks reported that they had never seen more wagering activity on The W than in 2024.

Now, with ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ION, CBS, CBSSN, Amazon Prime Video, and NBA TV secured as media partners, the WNBA has never had more distribution and exposure. The 2025 season is a cinch to be the biggest in WNBA history.

A new expansion team will add to the excitement of the 2025 season. The Golden State Valkyries, based in San Francisco, will join The W for the upcoming season and compete in the Western Conference. Correlate that they will play at the Chase Center, home of the NBA Golden State Warriors.

Accordingly, the online wagering regular season will open on Friday, May 16, to commence the first-ever 44-game WNBA schedule. It will end on Thursday, September 12, with the playoffs to follow.

In sum, it took 27 years, but the New York Liberty are finally WNBA champions. They’ll be favorites to reclaim the franchise’s second title for the 2025 season. The Liberty opened as favorites to win the 2025 WNBA Finals. Last year’s runners-up, the Minnesota Lynx, are the second choice with gamblers. Minnesota massively defied expectations by making it to the Finals and winning the Commissioner’s Cup.

The Indiana Fever, who made the playoffs for the first time since 2016 on the back of guard Caitlin Clark’s stellar rookie campaign, is another big mover. They are a popular future play among the betting public. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Aces, perennial favorites for the past couple of seasons after back-to-back Finals victories, are in the conversation, too. The Liberty defeated the Aces in the semifinals of the 2024 playoffs.

Naturally, Indiana’s and Las Vegas’ superstars are the odds leaders in the 2025 regular-season Most Valuable Player after monumental seasons in 2024. Aces center A’ja Wilson, the 2024 season’s unanimous MVP, is the favorite to take home her fourth honor. Right behind her is Clark, the near-unanimous 2024 Rookie of the Year. Namely, Breanna Stewart and Defensive Player of the Year Napheesa Collier round out the top four. With Clark’s immense popularity and the emergence of more storylines, the WNBA saw “unprecedented levels” of WNBA odds bettor interest. It was over 100% year-over-year growth in the betting markets.

So, the New York Liberty won the first championship in franchise history.
The Houston Comets were the first dynasty in the WNBA, winning the first four titles behind the Big 3 of Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, and Tina Thompson. They fell into a decline after Cooper retired following the 2000 season. Swoopes was injured soon after, and the franchise was never the same, eventually folding in 2008.

Following that it was the LA Sparks, with back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002 and reaching a third straight Finals in 2003. Lisa Leslie was named Finals MVP in the championship years, and the Sparks were the last team to go back-to-back.
