Las Vegas Looks to Come Up Aces Again in WNBA for 2023

Last year the Las Vegas Aces made WNBA betting odds history by winning their first championship. Las Vegas has been a team on the rise for several years and was finally able to finish in 2022. Specifically, the Aces defeated the Connecticut Sun 3-1 in the WNBA Finals. Now comes the daunting task of the Aces to repeat as WNBA champions. Last year Wilson averaged 19.5 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. In the 2022 WNBA Playoffs, Wilson stepped up to average 20.3 points and 10.4 rebounds per contest. Rookie head coach Becky Hammon got off to the best possible start to her career. Harman led the Aces to the WNBA championship in her debut campaign. Hammon had a long playing career in the pros. Including with the New York Liberty from 1999-2006. Previously, Hammon was an NBA assistant with the San Antonio Spurs. For her 2022 efforts, Hammon was named WNBA coach of the year.

At the beginning the Aces were founded in 1997 as the Utah Starzz. Following six seasons, they were the San Antonio Silver Stars from 2003 through 2013. Since 2018 they have operated in Las Vegas. For the past four years, the Aces have been one of the best WNBA franchises. To show, they have four consecutive playoff appearances. Las Vegas made the 2020 WNBA Finals.

Connecticut Sun

Yet another WNBA franchise success story is the Connecticut Sun. Connecticut has made the playoffs for six consecutive years. They made and lost the 2019 WNBA Finals in 2019 and 2022. Last year the Sun was 25-11 straight up, 21-15 against the spread, and 20-15-1 over the total. Connecticut showed good balance in 2022 with rankings of 3rd for scoring offense and 2nd for points allowed. Jonquel Jones led the Sun with 14.7 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
