UFC 119 Betting Action – Can Mir Get Back On Top Of the Heavyweight Division.  It wasn’t that long ago that Frank Mir was on top of the MMA universe but a lot has happened since held the UFC heavyweight title several months ago and he’s going to need big win in the UFC betting action if he’s going to get another shot at reclaiming the title that used to be his.

In what’s being billed as a heavyweight extravaganza, the UFC odds action will have a major impact the heavyweight division.  Right now newcomer Brock Lesnar controls the belt and has been impressive so far in his brief stint in MMA competitor.  Lesnar actually took the heavyweight title by first beating legend Randy Couture and then beating Mir (UFC 100) in a unification match to make him the undisputed heavyweight champ.

It was the second time that Mir had held the title and there’s nothing more that the Jiu Jitsu would love more than to get a shot at the holding the title for a third time.  With Lesnar firmly planted at the top of the heavyweight heap Mir will be fighting like a wild man at UFC to try and win another shot at the champ.

These two have fought twice previously with Mir winning the first match (Lesnar’s second career MMA fight) and Lesnar embarrassing Mir in July of last year.  Since the two fighters have been going in opposite directions and the UFC betting event may be Mir’s last chance to continue on path towards the title if he loses.  Since UFC 100 Lesnar has only gotten better (easily beating Shane Carwin in second round in his only title defense since) while Mir has struggled.  Mir is just 1-2 in his last three fights with a win over Chieck Kongo and los to Lesnar and Carwin (an embarrassing 1st round KO).

Mir’s opponent in the UFC betting is no slouch either and if Mir fails to win this could be –for all intents and purposes- the end of his career.  Mirko Filipovic is a polished MMA fighter with a career MMA record of 27-7-2-1 and has won 3 of his past 4 fights.  He’s a terrific striker and with 20 careers KOs Mir is going to have his hands full.
