UFC Live Odds:Vera vs. Jones on Versus and Sportsnet

January 18th, 2021 UFC Betting

UFC odds will be on the board for UFC Live: Vera vs. Jones on Sunday, March 21st. This will be an event that is shown live on the Versus television network in the United States and Sportsnet in Canada. This will be a UFC betting card that you don’t have to pay to see on live television.

UFC odds feature Brandon Vera vs. Jon Jones in a light heavyweight bout.  It is one of three bouts on the main card that are expected to be televised. Two other good heavyweight bouts are on the main UFC betting card at this point. It is Junior dos Santos facing Gabriel Gonzaga and Cheick Kongo vs. Paul Buentello.

Getting UFC action on television that is not pay-per-view is exciting and UFC President Dana White has been looking for a card like this one on March 21st for a long time. “For the UFC shows, we just want to maximize the viewing audience,” White said, “It’s in our best interest. So I think we’re going to look at all nights of the week depending on the time of the year that it works out for us and what other products we have on to make sure we can promote it properly and cross promote all our products.”’

Vera lost in UFC odds in his last bout against Randy Couture so he really needs a bounce back win. Vera is more of a striker who would prefer to keep off the mat. Jones is more of a wrestler who would benefit if he can get this fight to the ground. Jones lost his last bout to Matt Hamill on Ultimate Fighter 10 due to disqualification. Jones is more than a 2-1 favorite in UFC odds against Vega.

The bout between Gonzaga and dos Santos has the potential to be a classic in UFC betting. Dos Santos is still unbeaten in the UFC as he has dispatched of Fabricio Werdum, Stefan Struve, Mirko Cro Cop, and Gilbert Yvel. He should get a tough test in UFC odds against Gonzaga who is 11-4 and coming off a first round TKO of Chris Tuchscherer last August.

The preliminary card has a wide variety of action in UFC odds.  A few of these could be moved to the main card in UFC betting but right now it is James Irvin vs. Alessio, Duane Ludwig vs. Spencer Fisher, Shannon Gugerty vs. Clay Guida, Eliot Marshall vs. Vladimir Matyushenko, Daniel Roberts vs. John Howard, Brendan Shaub vs. Chase Gormley, Mike Pierce vs. Rob Kimmons and Jason Brilz vs. Eric Schafer in UFC odds.
