UCF Fight Night 88 Results: Garbrandt and Stephens Win Big

October 25th, 2019 UFC Betting

If you bet on UFC then you surely want to know about the results of Fight Night 88. While the event wasn’t chock-full of star power, UFC betting experts had notion that the featured fighters had it in them to provide for an entertaining viewing experience. Suffice it to say that they can all find jobs in the maternity ward because they delivered big time. In the main event Cody Garbrandt knocked Thomas Almeida out in the first round. Garbrandt danced the Brazilian and gave him a faceful of knuckles, taking only a couple of minutes to take Almeida out.

In what was Barao’s first UFC fight in at featherweight, he looked like he might live up to his status as favorite. But as early as the second round Stephens floored the once bantamweight title-holder with one nasty uppercut after another. This left Barao dazed and confused. This makes people who bet on UFC wonder whether Barao can go toe to toe with his opponent – regardless of weight class – for a good many rounds, or if he is a first round wonder. Rick “The Horror” Story used some scare tactics to defeat Tarec Saffiedine.like a good sequel, with Story returned from almost two years out of the Octago to beat the erstwhile Strikeforce champion and make it seem as if those two years were but a couple of weeks.

Lorenz Larkin beat Jorge Masvidal in a slobberknocker of a split decision – call the Ghostbusters because the ghost of Strikeforce still haunts the UFC. UFC betting fans would love to see these two go at it once or more times. Masvidal’s record is 4-3 out of the last 7, and like at Fight Night 88 all 3 losses have been a result of a split-decision. In the preliminaries Sara McMann defeated Jessica Eye to potentially insert herself in the championship picture and take on whoever wins between Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes. Then again, the UFC could go a different way and make Holly Holm the number one contender provided that she wins in July.

Jake Collier scored a win over Alberto Uda via TKO in the second round. Collier had his nose splattered all over his face and yet managed to get the victory on Uda. People who bet on UFC never would have believed it. Erik Koch rear naked choked Shane Campbell in the second. Similar to Story, this marked Koch’s first fight in the same span, and he made a major statement on his hunt for the featherweight belt. Bryan Caraway beat Aljamain Sterling via another split-decision. This was a paint-by-numbers Caraway fight; get the crap beaten out, stage a comeback, and come from behind to get the W (the Hulk Hogan blueprint).
