Assuncao has shown much more confidence and aggression since his win over Moraes.  For all that he is still the UFC betting odds underdog against the revenge minded Moraes.  In the same way Assuncao is not likely to be able to get away with the same aggressive tactics in this rematch.  To differentiate Moraes is at a far higher-class level than Assuncao’s recent opponents.  And he has won his last three bouts with ease+.  This matchup has been labeled as a number one contender’s bout by Dana White himself.  The winner will get a shot at the bantamweight crown.

Marlon Moraes is 30 years old and also a native of Brazil.  Concurrently he fights out of Toms River, New Jersey.  To summarize Moraes has a record of 21-5-1.  Since his loss to Assuncao “Magic” has won three in a row.  Last bout for Moraes was a knockout win over Jimmie Rivera on June 1, 2018 at Utica, New York.  Prior to that was a knockout win over Aljamain Sterling on December 9, 2017 at Fresno, California.  In view of the wins Moraes won Performance of the Night honors each time.  He is a former WSOF bantamweight champion.

Matchup to Watch

At the beginning the chance to take on TJ Dillashaw is at stake in this matchup.  Supplementing that is the fact that Assuncao and Moraes have been on a collision course with the UFC betting odds.  For one thing their last fight was incredibly close.  Subsequently each man has improved since that first meeting.  As mentioned earlier many believe Moraes was the actual winner of the first matchup.
