UFC Fight Night 109: The Nobel Prize of UFC Betting

July 19th, 2019 UFC

Gustafsson vs. Teixeira will be the UFC betting main event on May 28th at the Ericsson Globe Stockholm, Sweden. The main card also includes light heavyweight and welterweight matches.

Alexander Gustafsson vs. Glover Teixeira
Weight class: Light heavyweight

Sportsbook odds for fans who bet on UFC:
Glover Teixeira 2½ (-145) +270
Alexander Gustafsson 2½ (+125) -330

Teixeira has won four of his last five fights, including a unanimous decision over Jared Cannonier at UFC 208 on February 11th in Brooklyn. Prior to that, Teixeira got KTFO by Anthony Johnson in 13 seconds at UFC 202 in August 20th, 2016. Perhaps he was hoping Dana White would give him a belt after that, like he did Jose Aldo?

The ‘Viking Mauler’ Gustaffson has stated his hope that a win over Teixeira will land him a shot at the light heavyweight title. Or even a loss, but then the Brazilian would have to go and get himself suspended like Anthony Johnson. The Swede has unsuccessfully challenged for the championship twice against Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier. Maybe he wants to make it 3-for-3?

Volkan Oezdemir vs. Misha Cirkunov UFC betting preview

Weight class: Light heavyweight
Odds for fans who bet on UFC:
Volkan Oezdemir 1½ (-115) +335
Misha Cirkunov 1½ (-105) -420

Oezdemir made his promotional debut against veteran Ovince St. Preux at UFC Fight Night 104. The Swiss defeated Preux by split decision. Oezdemir has burst into the MMA scene more swiftly than a cuckoo bird springing out of a Swiss clock. “Now that I’m in the UFC, people see me differently,” he told BJ Penn Radio. “People sort of respect me more and stuff like that.” Before that they probably just thought he was Claudio Castagnoli.

Cirkunov is undefeated in the UFC, going 4-0 since debuting at Fight Night 74 on August 23, 2015. The Latvian-Canadian by way of Russian is on an eight-fight winning streak dating back to Fivestar FL 9: Northern Nightmare in March 2012. Following Cirkunov’s win over Nikita Krylov in December, White said he was not “interested” in Cirkunov. “I’m done. He knows I’m done. I made it very clear I’m done,” the UFC president added. He must be something if he can make White backtrack.

Peter Sobotta vs. Ben Saunders UFC betting preview

Weight class: Welterweight
Odds for fans who bet on UFC:
Peter Sobotta 2½ (-165) EV
Ben Saunders 2½ (+145) -120

Sobotta bounced back from his first UFC loss with a unanimous decision win over Nicolas Dalby at Fight Night 93 on September 3, 2016 in Hamburg. Sobotta was born in Poland and raised in Germany but fights for Jamaica. Say what? Jamaican me crazy, mon.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Saunders “sees the biggest talkers getting the biggest paychecks and it makes him mad.” Ben, I want you to get up now. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell: I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!
