UFC Betting: St Pierre Is Unbeatable

UFC Betting: St Pierre Is Unbeatable.  The prospect of watching Georges St Pierre (GSP) fight in the UFC betting action is about as thrilling as it gets in MMA competition. He is the rare talent that captivates and frightens at the same time and he’s virtually unbeatable inside the Octagon.

He’ll be back in action in the upcoming UFC 124 Main Event and as interesting as that sounds it will most likely be a major let down as he’s all but certain to win yet again and retain his welterweight world championship belt.

Not to take anything away from his upcoming opponent in the UFC odds, Josh Koscheck, but he’s simply nowhere near where GSP is terms of fighting ability.  But then again, no one –with the exception of middleweight world champion Anderson Silva- is on the same plain as St Pierre when it comes to MMA fighting.

GSP is ranked as the #1 pound per pound fighter in the world by Yahoo.  He is ranked as the #2 pound per pound fighter in the world by Sherdog (Silva is ranked #1).  And there really isn’t any even close after that.

Koschek is unlucky in the fact that he’s come into his fighting prime at the same time as once in a generation fighter like GSP.   Perhaps if St Pierre weren’t’ around Koscheck would have already won a world title.  Nonetheless St Pierre is very much ‘around’ and on December 11th he’ll be in the Octagon ready to deliver the knockout blow

These two fighters have met before on August 25th 2007.  The result was much as you would expect with SGP getting the unanimous decision.  That was 3 years ago and the only thing that’s changed since then is the fact that GSP is a better fighter now than he used to be.

This will be his 7th consecutive defense of his world title (2nd longest in UFC odds history) and would be the biggest upset perhaps ever in the UFC betting action history if he were to lose to Koscheck.

The fact of the matter is, it’s exciting to see a great champion in action but the outcome is already all but set in stone and this math will likely be another somewhat boring GSP win as he’s not likely to take a lot risks to defend his belt and will simply go out and do what he has to do to win a 3-round decision.
