UFC Betting Finale Preview: Stevenson vs. Diaz

January 21st, 2021 UFC Betting

UFC betting fans of light weight fighters will certainly get their money’s worth in the upcoming UFC Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale.

On June 20th this UFC odds extravaganza will take place at the Palms in Las Vegas as the UFC odds world looks on. The main card is loaded with light weight bruisers and the UFC betting match up with Joe Stevenson and Nate Diaz will be one for sports betting enthusiasts to keep their eye on.

UFC betting organizers have booked light weights Clay Guida and Diego Sanchez as the main event but the entire main card consists of light weight and welter weight UFC odds matches. And even though Stevenson and Diaz aren’t technically the main event in this UFC betting event, their match shouldn’t take a back seat to anyone. Both fighters are up and coming fighters in the UFC betting world and could some day get a shot at the title.

Stevenson has come to getting his hands on the UFC odds title but was stopped short by the force of nature that is BJ Penn. At UFC 88 he was soundly defeated by Penn in a match that set him up to face champion Sean Sherk in the next UFC betting event -where Penn went on to claim the UFC odds light weight title. But Stevenson has learned since then and at the age of 26 he still has plenty of time left to become the UFC odds champ.

But unfortunately for Stevenson his career has been on a somewhat downward trajectory in the UFC betting since then.

Since that loss he’s been an underdog in the UFC odds more times than he should be. He’s also suffered a number of losses in the UFC betting and his career record now stands at 29-10. That’s impressive for it’s longevity but his winning percentage in the UFC betting odds is nothing to brag about. In fact, over his past four UFC betting fights Stevenson is just 1-3. Two of those losses in the UFC betting lines have come via submission.

The opportunity is ripe for Diaz in this UFC betting match up. At two years younger than Stevenson it looks as though youth could be served in this bout. With a career record of 10-3, Diaz doesn’t have the experience of his UFC odds opponent, but he’s got a much better win percentage. He’s a follower of Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and very adept at dispatching his UFC betting opponents with submission moves -something that has been a weak spot for Stevenson of late.

If you’re looking to play some sportsbook action in this UFC match up put your money on Diaz. He’s younger, on the upward trajectory of his UFC career and looks poised to hand yet another loss to the struggling Stevenson.
