UFC 86 Odds Favorites or Underdogs at SBG Global

February 5th, 2021 UFC Betting

UFC 86 odds will have a number of heavy favorites but history has shown that just because a fighter is favored does not mean he will win. In UFC 86 betting there will be fighters that have odds of 2-1 or more. The two key bouts in UFC 86 odds will have Quinton Jackson favored over Forrest Griffin and Josh Koscheck favored over Chris Lytle. Should you take more favorites or more underdogs in UFC 86 betting?

UFC 86 odds will also include a number of other exciting bouts where underdogs have a chance. History has shown that premier events in the UFC like UFC 86 betting will have underdogs doing quite well. Other non-marquee fights in the MMA seem to see favorites do better. UFC 86 odds could be similar to what happened in UFC 85. Only three favorites won in the eight fights in UFC 85. That should tell you that underdogs are worth considering in UFC 86 odds. While underdogs can be attractive in UFC 86 odds, they are not attractive in non-UFC bouts where the talent pool is not as high.  EliteXC and DREAM bouts are often very one-sided.

While UFC 85 saw the underdogs do well that does not mean favorites have not had their day. In UFC 84 there were 9 favorites that won out of 11 bouts.  The same thing happened in UFC 83 where 8 favorites won. When UFC was first popular it seemed that underdogs ruled the day. That may or may not be the case in UFC  odds. As you look at UFC 86 odds remember that just because underdogs did well in UFC 85 you may not want to put money on Forrest Griffin in UFC odds. Jackson has been a beast and is a deserving 2.5-1 favorite in UFC  odds.

As you consider UFC  odds you will want to handicap the card and pretty much throw out past history. Sometimes the favorites do well in UFC betting while other times the underdogs pay off.  Handicap each of the fights individually and your chances of success versus the UFC odds will be greater.
