UFC 119 Odds Spotlight: Frank Mir Wants His Title Back

February 11th, 2021 UFC Betting

The Hoosier State better buckle its seat belt because in just a few short days it’s going to get a face full top shelf MMA action when it hosts the UFC 119 odds event. On Saturday September 25th, the city of Indianapolis will host the UFC 119 Main Event and the focus of the entire MMA universe for that brief moment in time will be squarely focused on the action inside the Conseco Field House.

The Main Card for this event is loaded with intriguing bouts and matchups and anyone looking to get on the UFC 119 betting action is going to have plenty of choices when it comes to wagering.  The Main Event, in fact, might just be the match of the night when former UFC heavyweight champ Frank Mir will take on Mikro “Cro Cop” Filipovic in the most anticipated heavyweight matchup of the evening.  Filipovic, a Croation policeman (hence the nick name) is one tough hombre and a perennial contender in the heavyweight division.  He’s never been quite able to break through though and has likely seen his better fighting days already pass him by.

But the same could be said for Mir who will be fighting for relevancy in this UFC 119 odds matchup.  Not that long ago Mir was on top of the MMA world as he grabbed the Interim belt in the heavyweight division and looked set become undisputed heavyweight champion of the world earlier this year.

The only thing that stood in his way was mountain of a man named Brock Lesnar, an intimidating, but inexperienced fighter who Mir had defeated easily in a previous bout.  But the rest is history.  Lesnar cleaned his clock, he lost the interim title and now Mir is fighting just to stay relevant at in the UFC 119 betting action.

The heavyweight division is loaded with incoming new talent including Lesnar and the Brazilian Junior Dos Santos.

Mir is the more accomplished fighter in the UFC 119 odds matchup against Cro Cop but that hardly guarantees a win.  With a career record of 16-7 his results are mixed but he’s got some big wins and his kickboxing skills could give Mir problems in the Octagon.
