UFC 116 Betting: Soszynski vs. Bonnar

February 15th, 2021 UFC Betting

Contrary to popular belief there is more the upcoming UFC 116 betting event than the Main Event between heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and challenger Shane Carwin.

You can be forgiven for thinking that the UFC 116 odds matchups did not extend past these heavyweight bruisers as this Main Event match has been receiving all the hype for the UFC 116 betting action for weeks.

But there are several other very good matchups on the Main Card and plenty of great UFC 116 odds opportunities.  One very interesting MMA betting opportunity is the light heavyweight match between Krzystof Sosyznski and Stephan Bonnar.

When the UFC 116 betting action finally gets underway in Las Vegas on July 3rd most of the attention and the MMA betting money will be on Lesnar and Carwin and that should only create further online betting opportunities on fights like the Soszynski-Bonnar matchup.

Neither of these fighters is all that good and some UFC betting fans might even question why fighters of their status would be included on a UFC betting Main Event card.  And while they might not be all that talented (a combined record of 37-20) these two men should be the hell out of each other and, if not a portrait of great fighting skills, it should be bloody knockout battle to the death.

Soszynski enters the UFC 116 betting contest with a career record of 19-9, seven of those wins coming by KO and four of those losses coming by KO.  That means the chance of his UFC 116 odds encounter with Bonnar is very likely to end a KO as well, and that is what MMA betting fans love to see.

Bonnar is not all that different of a fighter.  His career MMA betting record is a sloppy 18-11.  Only two of those wins have come by KO and only two of losses have come by KO.  But this man can take a punch.

The last time these two fighters met up in the UFC betting action was at UFC 110 where Soszynski got the better of Bonnar and the fight was called due to doctor stoppage.  Fans can expect the same type of bloody, knockdown, drag-out fight as the first matchup between these when they climb back into the Octagon for the UFC 116 betting action.
