UFC betting to start the New Year takes place from Las Vegas, Nevada as those that bet on UFC 108 will get a number of great fights including a heavyweight battle between Dos Santos and Yvel. Dos Santos has become a popular fighter and is the UFC betting favorite in this bout.
UFC betting has dos Santos coming into this bout at 9-1 while Yvel Is 33-13-1 in his MMA career. Yvel is managed by M-1 Global and he did knock out former UFC champ Pedro Rizzo at Fight Force International back in June. He will have his hands full against dos Santos who is considered one of the UFC contenders in the heavyweight division. Yvel used to be with PRIDE and he is 8-1 in his last nine bouts, with all of the wins by stoppage. Dos Santos had three straight stoppage wins over his own until losing to Mirko Filipovic in UFC 103.
Those that bet on UFC 108 will notice the headline fight being a battle between Rashad Evans and Thiago Silva. There are three other bouts on the UFC betting main card. It was supposed to be Sean Sherk against Jim Miller in one of the UFC bouts but Sherk may have to pull out due to injury. Sherk was a replacement for Tyson Griffin who got injured. In fact, UFC betting has seen a number of changes for this UFC 108 card. The other main card bouts in UFC betting have Paul Daley facing Dustin Hazelett and Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout. Lauzon is the favorite in his bout while the Daley-Hazelett fight is a pick.
There are six preliminary bouts in UFC, two of which are set to be shown live on Spike TV. Dan Lauzon faces Cole Miller with Miller the slight UFC favorite. It is Rafaello Oliveira taking on UFC betting newcomer John Gunderson. Also on the card for those that bet on UFC 108 are bouts between Vladimir Matyushenko and Steve Cantwell, Martin Kampmann vs. Jacob Volkmann, Mark Munoz vs. Ryan Jensen and Mike Pyle vs. Jake Ellenberger.
The dos Santos-Yvel bout is now going to get even more attention from those that bet on UFC 108 since Sherk is not expected to be on the card. The fight could be a good one too if Yvel exhibits the kick boxing skills he is known for.
