UFC odds on Saturday heavily favor Jon Fitch as he faces Mike Pierce on the main card of UFC 107 from Memphis, Tennessee.
Fitch is almost a 5-1 favorite in UFC 107 betting to dispatch of Pierce. UFC odds have Fitch looking for a rematch against champion Georges St. Pierre but first Fitch must get past newcomer Mike Pierce. Fitch needs an impressive win in UFC odds because he is in a race between teammate Josh Koscheck for the right to face St. Pierre in a title bout. Fitch is 19-3 in MMA action and a sparkling 10-1 in UFC with his only loss coming to St. Pierre.
Pierce is 10-1 in MMA fights and 1-0 in UFC . Fitch would have been on the UFC odds board in UFC 106 but Ricardo Almeida had to pull out of that fight with a knee injury. Pierce won his fight in UFC odds in Fight Night #18 against Brock Larson. Fitch is getting all of the attention in UFC odds but Pierce’s win over Larson was a good one. The key for Pierce in pulling the upset in UFC 107 betting will be getting the fight to the ground so he can use his wrestling skills or catching Fitch with a big shot. The problem for Pierce is that Fitch is a decent wrestler so the edge on the ground it not a huge one for Pierce and Fitch has already proven he can take huge shots and survive.
UFC have a total of 11 fights for Saturday night including the feature bout between BJ Penn and Diego Sanchez. Penn is about a 3-1 favorite in UFC 107 betting to defend his lightweight title. Also on the main portion of the televised card are Frank Mir and Cheick Kongo. This battle of heavyweights has Mir as about a 2-1 favorite in UFC 107 betting. Also on the televised card in UFC odds are Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida and Paul Buentello vs. Stefan Struve.
The preliminary card features six fights in UFC. It is Edgar Garcia facing DaMarques Johnson, Alan Belcher vs. Wilson Gouveia, Johny Hendricks vs. Ricardo Funch, Matt Wiman vs. Shane Nelson Rousimar Palhares vs. Lucio Linhares and TJ Grant vs. Kevin Burns.
Overall, UFC 107 looks to be an excellent card with a number of exciting bouts including this one between Fitch and Pierce.
