UFC Betting – Ortiz vs. Griffin

February 22nd, 2021 UFC Betting

UFC betting on Saturday features Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin. Those that bet on UFC will find that Griffin is a slight favorite in this fight that will headline UFC 106 from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Here is a look at this headline bout and what could happen as you bet on UFC 106. UFC betting always seems to be popular on Griffin even though he doesn’t always win. He has lost in back-to-back fights against Anderson Silva and Rashad Evans. Now he gets a chance against Tito Ortiz in the headline bout on Saturday in UFC betting.  Griffin knows what is on the line on Saturday in UFC betting when he faces Ortiz. “I get to be a headline fight coming off two losses, and that’s a big deal for me right now,” Griffin told a MMA website. “Tito talks about being career-minded and stuff like that. I want to be a headline fight right now you know?”

UFC betting for this event has had some changes that have not made UFC 106 as attractive as it could have been. Griffin and Ortiz have replaced what would have been a bet on UFC 106 battle between UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and top challenger Shane Carwin because of Lesnar’s illness.

This is not the first time Ortiz and Griffin have met in UFC betting. They fought back in 2006 in what was contentious split decision in UFC betting for Ortiz. Griffin isn’t looking back to that fight. He is looking to win anyway he can in UFC betting on Saturday. “I’m not looking to make a statement,” Griffin said. “I’m looking to win a fight any way that can happen. I’ll take anything. I don’t care. I’m not looking for something spectacular.”

Ortiz has tried to hype this UFC betting event, saying that the bout could be a great one. “Forrest is a great opponent and he puts it on the line,” Ortiz said on a recent call promoting the event.  “We’re both going to put on a fight of the year, I believe.” Whether that happens or not is up for debate but it seems unlikely.  Neither fighter is looking back at what happened in their bout three years ago. They don’t seem to have a lot of strong feeling against the other one and that doesn’t help this fight either.

Ortiz and Griffin have won before in UFC betting and are capable fighters but they are not headliners.  Griffin has proven to be beatable in UFC betting while Ortiz has seen his better days.

As you bet on UFC 106 you will notice that Griffin is the slight favorite in UFC betting odds.
