UFC betting lists Franklin as the -155 sports book favorite against Belfort. Franklin is not underestimating his opponent in Saturday’s bout. “In the early days of the UFC, he’s an explosive athlete,” said Franklin, “He still looks the same to me. He’s got the capability to be dangerous.” Franklin is 27-4 in his career while Belfort is 18-8. “It’s going to be a pretty exciting match because I know the things that he does, he know the things that I do. We’ll just see who’s going to do it,” Franklin said.
Franklin continues to get marquee events in UFC betting even though he has not fought for a title since losing to Anderson Silva in 2007 in bet on UFC action. “I just want to fight exciting fights for the fans.” Franklin said. Just a few months ago it was Franklin winning in UFC betting as he defeated Wanderlei Silva.
Belfort won the UFC 12 heavyweight tournament in UFC betting when he was only 19-years old. He had wins over Randy Couture, Tank Abbott, Wanderlei Silva and Matt Lindland. He will be on the UFC betting card for the first time since leaving to fight in Japan in 2005. “I think Vitor still poses a threat like he did several years ago with his speed and explosiveness in his hands,” Franklin said. “And that’s something we’re obviously looking out for. More recently, he’s become a much more well-rounded MMA fighter. That’s going to pose obviously a more challenging fight.”
