Looking Ahead to UFC 205

October 8th, 2019 UFC Betting

November 12th is a blessed day for those who like to bet on UFC 205 fights. As we’re all aware, the UFC is currently planning the biggest fight card in the history of the sport. With three title fights, and a chance at making history, no other fight card can rival the magnitude of UFC 205. Before we continue, let’s take a look at each headlining match, as well as the online sportsbook odds that each fighter will be facing.

MMA Odds – UFC 205 – Saturday, November 12th

Eddie Alvarez        1 ½ (-175) +135
Conor McGregor   1 ½ (+155) -155
Tyron Woodley     2 ½ (-130) +170
Stephen Thompson  2 ½ (+110) -200
Karolina Kowalkiewicz 4 ½ (-185) +310
Joanna Jedrzejczyk     4 ½ (+160) -370

Obviously there is one name that sticks out above all the other, Notorious. Conor McGregor’s UFC journey has raised the sport’s ratings, raised the payout the athletes receive, and has made an MMA fan out of all of us. While McGregor has his share of haters, no one can deny the ferocity at which the Irishman tackles the sport, as well as his life. Although almost everyone has something to say about McGregor, his ability to consistently show up and deliver on his promises puts him in a class of his own.

At UFC 205 Alvarez will try to prove that he’s the better man, but the Irishman is faced with the opportunity to make history. Never before has a fighter been able to wield two belts from two different divisions in the UFC, and all that’s standing in McGregor’s way is Eddie Alvarez, the current UFC Lightweight Champion. Online sportsbooks are siding with McGregor on this one, but you can be certain that Alvarez will not be rolling over.

But to help build up to that historic event, the UFC has packed as many eye-catching bouts as possible. The championship bout between Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson is a pristine example. Woodley captivated the hearts of online sportsbook fans when he won the welterweight belt halfway through the first round of his fight against Robbie Lawlwer. The fight against Thompson will mark Woodley’s first title defense, but interestingly enough, the online sportsbooks are siding with Thompson on this one. Thompson is widely considered to be one of the best fighters in the world, but it is still a little unexpected to see the odds side with the challenger.

The other matchup is between two of the best Strawweight division fighters in the world. Joanna Jedrzejczyk will be defending her Strawweight title against Karolina Kowalkiewicz. Both fighters are extremely talented and beautiful, as well as Polish. New York City has a large population of Polish immigrants so you can be certain there will be plenty of praise for both these fighters on November 12th.
